Sims Online Community
The Sims is easily one of the contenders for Game of the Year in 2000, but have you ever visited any of the sites that are part of the growing online community?  Believe it or not, fans of the game have quickly created a cadre of fan sites that easily rival the best Quake websites, and it’s truly amazing how many objects, characters, wall patterns, and other items can be downloaded to customize your experience.  (One site has over 1,200 unique characters you can download for the game).

I have to admit to not even being aware of the sheer scale of online content for the game until I read a great GameCenter article by Andrew S. Bub.  This story outlines ten of the best Sims resources on the web, including The Seven Deadly Sims (see what they have listed for Lust) and even the French Lingerie Club, which includes some risqué character models.

Overall, it’s amazing that there are so many unique objects available, including some 2,000 different wall patterns.  Gamers aren’t just playing with the Sims, but rather creating characters and items for others to play with.

If you’ve played the Sims, you owe it to yourself to check out some of these online resources.  There’s nothing like seeing Batman and Robin running around in a Sims house with famous paintings hanging on the walls and a Sega Dreamcast in the living room.  I can’t wait to see where the online community takes this game next.
