Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force
Frequent readers of this site are probably more than familiar with our anticipation for the final version of Star Trek: Elite Force, the first respectable Star Trek PC game.  Developed by Raven Software and featuring the Quake 3 engine, Elite Force is technically superb and artistically stunning, not to mention being tied together by a compelling narrative that puts you in the role of Ensign Munroe, a member of Voyager's Hazard Team.

Whereas Daikatana has made us all cringe at the mention of sidekicks, Elite Force flawlessly pulls off the idea of team sidekicks.  But where the game really shines is in the narrative, which effectively uses the Voyager cast members to add authenticity to the experience.  After all, some of the best levels in the game take place on Voyager when you have to deal with problems with your head and not your trigger finger.  Don't expect branching dialogue or any particularly memorable puzzles, but do expect a game that delivers Star Trek realism to the nth degree.

Perhaps the best news is that this game won't be missing its release date.  Elite Force was recently finished and should be on store shelves around the world by the middle of September.
