Sin's Elexis Sinclair:
Someone knows how to render!

It’s the common rags-to-riches success story we often make fun of: A bunch of nerdy programmers slam away on keyboards in someone’s cramped garage, trying to make ends meet by developing their own software. Although not exactly the case for Ritual Entertainment, this group, primarily comprised of former employees of other Texas-based 3D development houses, had a homespun start too. As Tom Mustaine, a level designer at Ritual remembers, "When we started the company, we were working out of someone’s house. The next-door neighbors thought we were a bunch of drug dealers because of all the cool cars parked out front and the long haired freaky looking people coming and going 24 hours a day." Today, Ritual Entertainment still has that wad of freaky programmers on staff, but they recently moved into brand new offices, and have their first full-fledged 3D action game, Sin, due out later this Spring from Activision.
