If you haven’t been over to GameTrailers lately, make sure to watch this month’s Bonus Round featuring game designer David Jaffe, Bonus Round regular Michael Pachter, and Giantbomb.com‘s Jeff Gerstmann.  We taped this show up at the Game Developers Conference and it’s one of our best yet.  These guys are fun, honest and insightful. Our discussion covers everything from used games, OnLive, gaming in the recession and much more. It’s our best episode so far in 2009.

Bonus Round from DICE, Episode 2 Now LiveNo Comments

Over at GameTrailers you can now watch part 2 of The Bonus Round from DICE 2009 with N’Gai Croal, Mike Snider, and LittleBigPlanet’s Alex Evans. In this part we continue our discussion about downloadable content, user-generated levels, and the future of the gaming industry.

This week we will be filming another episode of Bonus Round at GDC 2009 in San Francisco.  I think you guys will be excited to see who is scheduled to appear.  I’m happy to confirm David Jaffe’s blog post that he will be appearing on this episode.

This week The Bonus Round heads to DICE 2009 for a conversation with Mike Snider from USA Today, Alex Evans, co-creator of LittleBigPlanet, and ex-Newsweek journalist N’Gai Croal.  In this first part of our conversation we discuss the state of the console war, get into downloadable content, and even discuss how fans impact game designers via Twitter.  This is a great 4 part discussion with three smart guys in the business. Our discussion about DLC is especially interesting with some real fresh thinking put forward by our panelists.

New Deal With Spike2 Comments

As you may have read, yes, I’m happy to confirm that I’ve signed a new multi-year deal with Spike TV. This means you’ll be seeing lots more of GTTV and Bonus Round in the years to come, as well as a series of videogame specials and of course the Video Game Awards.

I joined Spike back in the Fall of 2005, and I am proud of all the work we’ve done both on-air and online at GameTrailers. At a time when other TV networks and print publications are scaling back support of gaming, Spike continues to invest more and more in the category. Soon we will be talking more about what that means.
